Following on from our recent application to the Baily Thomas Charitable Fund, we are delighted to announce that we were successful in securing funds to replace our much-needed polytunnels at Grow West.
Due to the nature of the open site, polytunnels are essential to be able to grow year-round vegetables that form the enterprise’s vegetable box delivery scheme. The replacement of the current irreparable tunnels is the second phase of our redevelopment of the community garden. It will not only create additional opportunities for the people that we support to grow their horticultural skills and knowledge but will allow us to more than double our vegetable-growing capacity.
We look forward to the addition of the two new polytunnels on site soon. You can keep updated with the site’s progress on its Facebook page.
