Allerby improvements – stage one

We are in the process of updating key areas of our 12-acre community garden – Grow West. The site provides essential horticultural skills and training to the people that we support. With support from our team of support workers, they grow a range of vegetables, plants and flowers that are sold in the onsite shop and through the vegetable box delivery scheme.

With the support of the Co-Op Community Foundation and the RWE Robin Rigg Community Fund, we were recently able to complete the first phase of our ongoing upgrades to the site. Work included essential maintenance and repairs to our toilet and communal area and kitchen.

The toilets used by the people that we support were replaced with shiny new ones and all fixtures and fittings were upgraded. The kitchen was transformed with new units and fixtures. All of the communal areas were given a lick of paint and the old, rotten doors were replaced with new, UPVC ones.

We would like to say a huge thank you to both the Co-Op Community Foundation and the RWE Robin Rigg Community Fund for their generous support and for enabling us to complete a large part of our renovation works.
