We run a range of social enterprises to provide valuable training, support and knowledge to the people in our care. These enterprises also provide funding and financial support that helps to support our services.
You can help to support us by:
Enjoy tasty food that is made by our trainees, onsite, fresh every day. Experience our famous West House scone, soups, bread, homemade pizzas and more from our cafes in Whitehaven, Workington and Keswick. Available to eat in or takeaway.
Get locally grown vegetables delivered directly to your doorstep with our vegetable box scheme. Prices start from £6.50 for our regular box or £8 for a family box. Alternatively, visit our market garden in Allerby and buy seasonal plants and flowers. With local walks and a play area on-site, it’s a fun-filled, family day out.
Visit our pottery for handmade functional ceramics for your home. Each piece is individually made and glazed by our trainees and comes labelled with their name, so you know exactly who made it! You will find some of these pieces for sale in our cafes or online at our Etsy shop.
Alongside our experienced staff, we work with a number of volunteers in both our enterprises and our centres to help provide the support that those in our care need.
If you have available time, would like to support West House and become a volunteer, then please contact us. Please note that you will be asked to complete an enhanced DBS check along with our induction training before you are able to volunteer.
We are committed to providing a person-centred, inclusive and positive environment in our facilities and social enterprises for those that we support and our visitors.
